This program offers paid tutoring services to students with specific learning needs during the school day as referred by their teacher. Students are remediated in needed skill areas within the context of the concepts and content being presented in the MGCS classroom. Tutoring includes the use of Orton-Gillingham and other multi-sensory methods as well as offering general study skill development, executive functioning, and other techniques for student success.
Tutoring Recommendation Requirements:
Certain levels of cognitive functioning are recommended in order for Myrtle Grove Christian School to adequately serve a student enrolled at the school. If a student possesses scoring below these levels, intervention will be needed to maintain enrollment to ensure the student is poised for growth and success. If a student’s scoring falls below any of the following, tutoring intervention as well as possible consideration for enrollment in The Timothy Center classroom should be discussed and may be required to maintain enrollment. Other areas of concern can also be discussed for possible intervention based on a student’s educational psychological evaluation.
