ARRIVAL
Morning Arrival Procedures
7:15-7:50 PAID Morning Care – Side Gym Door Drop Off (Students must be registered. See below for more information)
7:50 Morning Drop Off begins. Doors will be locked until 7:50, students will need to remain in vehicles. Students should report directly to their homerooms immediately upon arrival.
- Drop off location: We only utilize the Front Office car line for drop off in the mornings. Please do not drop off students in the preschool parking lot, the horseshoe lot, or at the middle school hallway door.
- Parents are welcome to park in the front lot and walk their students to the door. Curbside drop off is available for K-8 students to foster student independence.
- The horseshoe parking lot is not utilized for drop off or pick up.
- Preschool students and their siblings are permitted to utilize the preschool parking lot for drop off. Parents must park and walk their students to the door.
- If you are utilizing the preschool parking lot please only park in designated spaces and not on curbs or in the grass.
8:15 Tardy Bell rings for Preschool-8th (students should be in class and prepared for the day to begin)
**After 8:15 AM all students can only enter through the front door and will check in with at front desk prior to walking to class
K-8 Wednesday Late Start
To continue to provide our students and community with a top educational experience MGCS has dedicated time for staff meetings and professional development every Wednesday morning. Student arrival begins one hour later each Wednesday for Kindergarten-8th grade students. Morning drop-off starts at 8:50 a.m., and the tardy bell for Kindergarten–8th grade students rings at 9:15 a.m. School doors will remain locked until 8:50 a.m., and students should remain in their vehicles until that time.
Early Morning Care is available for students that do need to be dropped off between 7:15-7:50 a.m. for the entire week or for just Wednesdays. See below for Morning Care registration. Please note that students arriving after 7:50 a.m. cannot be received and campus doors will be locked until the regular Wednesday arrival window begins at 8:50 a.m.

Paid Morning Care Details
Monday- Friday Morning Care
Families that need to drop off their students before 7:50 due to other time commitments can register for Morning Care. There is a $30 per month fee for Morning Care. After School Care participants need to register for Morning Care but will not be charged the additional fee. A staff person will be at the Side Gym Door to welcome and receive registered students for Morning Care from 7:15-7:50am. At this time Morning Care spaces are limited, please email Angi Blanton ablanton@mgcs.org with any inquiry you may have.
Wednesday Morning Care
We acknowledge that some families may be impacted by our Late Start Wednesdays. If you would like to register your student(s) for paid Morning Care on Wednesdays only please fill out this form. If you are already registered for Monday – Friday Morning Care you do not need to fill out this form. Registration is $20 for one student or $40 for a family consisting of several MGCS students, monthly. Spaces are limited and we will likely reach a maximum number of participants. Students enrolled in Wednesday Morning Care must arrive between the usual Morning Care window from 7:15-7:50 a.m. Please note that students arriving after 7:50 a.m. cannot be received until the regular Wednesday arrival window begins at 8:50 a.m. Please email Angi Blanton with any inquiry you may have.
DISMISSAL
Afternoon Dismissal Procedures
At the end of the school day, students can be picked up using one of two methods: the Car Line or Parent Walk-Up.
Car Line: Operates from the main entrance. Please display your car tag in the windshield or have your three-digit code ready when you enter the line. Students will be called to the front entrance upon your arrival.
Parent Walk-Up: Conducted near the gym. If you prefer to park and walk to pick up your student, this can only be done at the Parent Walk-Up location.
After School Care
For an additional fee, students in our preschool – 5th grade may attend our After School Care program. You can contact Nichole Russell nrussell@mgcs.org to register your child for the After School Care program.
Late Pickup Policy
If students are not picked up during their designated carpool dismissal time, they will be taken to the library where they will remain until 3:30. After that, they will be taken to After School Care. Late parents will be billed a charge of $7.00 per 15 minutes for late pick up.

LOWER SCHOOL ENRICHMENTS
MGCS offers enrichment classes in art, STEM, library, music, and PE for our lower school students. Each grade level attends one of these enrichments daily each week. Homeroom teachers will provide a more detailed enrichment schedule.
STUDENTS CHECKING IN AND CHECKING OUT
Our Front Desk receptionist will assist you and your child if they are checking in or checking out. Our MGCS Student Handbook outlines what conditions or reasons are considered excused or unexcused tardies.
