2022-23 Covid Policy

2022-23 Covid Policy

If you test positive for Covid, please quarantine for five days with day one being the first full day of symptoms.

You may return to school after the five day quarantine has been completed AND you have been fever free for 48 hours (100 Degrees).  Symptoms should also be showing signs of significant improvement.

If you have been exposed to Covid, and are asymptomatic, you may attend school.  Should you develop symptoms, testing is strongly encouraged, and absences for illnesses are always excused.

Symptoms of Covid may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus and may include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

There are always typical fall and winter illnesses that occur in schools, and these have similar symptoms to the current, less virulent versions of Covid. This sometimes makes it difficult to distinguish the precise reason for a child’s illness. Therefore, we again encourage our families to always act with consideration for others, and to keep their child home if he or she is ill. Please contact us if there are any questions at 910-392-2067.
