Warrior Foundation

WHY THE WARRIOR FOUNDATION?

Over the last 40 years, MGCS has been home to some of the most talented educators and administrators in New Hanover County. Faithful teachers and staff have tirelessly served a generation of students at a payscale much lower than what they might earn in a public school or for-profit organization making our teachers and staff one of the school’s largest donor groups. While MGCS offers pay that is competitive with other private Christian schools in our region, we recognize the need to raise salaries in order to retain these skilled professionals as well as to simply keep pace with inflation and the cost of living increases.

OUR CHALLENGE AND OUR SOLUTION

How can we attract, keep, and pay an outstanding team of educators and staff well without raising tuition beyond the reach of Christian families or overcrowding our school? Our long term answer was to form a foundation in the fall of 2022 whose primary purpose will be to augment teacher and staff salaries. We are focused on supporting the faith and values of our families and preserving the unique culture of our Christian school. We’ve capped maximum enrollment and have waiting lists.  Our answer to our challenges and opportunities was to plant a tree in 2022 that we pray will grow and benefit our teachers, staff, families, and students for years to come. The Warrior Foundation is the tree and by the grace of God our tree is already growing.

HOW WILL THE WARRIOR FOUNDATION HELP OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY?

When fully funded, interest from the foundation will help secure the future of MGCS by supplementing teacher and staff salaries and help us retain our talented staff. The principal on this fund will be prudently preserved through conservative investments, and the return on investments will be distributed annually. While a portion of these funds may be used to support capital improvements or tuition assistance, the primary purpose of Warrior Foundation is to supplement teacher and staff salaries and to invest in their professional development. Each member of our team has a great heart for our families and their children. They are at MGCS to serve our Lord and our families. Now we want to honor this service and invest in their well-being year by year.

FORTY YEARS OF FAITHFULNESS AND THE FUTURE

The Warrior Foundation is managed by longtime friend of the school, Mr. Bob Warwick, a faithful supporter and friend of MGCS since its founding in 1982. Through generous gifts, pledges, good stewardship and the sale of a portion of school property, the Warrior Foundation has grown to approximately $570,000 in earmarked funds and is a 501c3 charitable non-profit.

We are looking for those who want to join us by investing in our team and in the future of the next generation. This investment is in our own community, our faith, our values, our families, and those who will follow us. By investing in this vision of planting a sheltering tree for our teachers and staff, you help ensure that your Christian faith and values will be passed on to the next generation.

WILL YOU CONSIDER JOINING OUR EFFORTS AND BEING A PART OF THE SOLUTION?

We are calling all those who are concerned by what is happening in our culture and providing a means for creating a solution that will influence others beyond our lifetimes.

Thank you for your consideration and prayers.
