Safety & Security at MGCS
Protecting Students, Staff, and Our Community
At Myrtle Grove Christian School, the safety of our students, staff, and visitors is a top priority. We provide a secure, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive in Christ.
Expert Safety Leadership
MGCS employs a full-time Safety and Security Director with extensive law enforcement and school safety experience. Our director’s credentials include: retired sheriff deputy, former police chief, certified school resource officer, advanced crisis intervention and de-escalation training, firearms certification, emergency response and survival training, and CPR instruction for all ages. This expertise ensures our campus maintains the highest standards of security and preparedness.
Campus Security & Access
- All exterior doors are locked and require unique security codes; only authorized individuals may pick up or drop off students.
- All visitors must always check in at the front desk in order to be present on campus during school hours.
- Security cameras monitor both the interior and exterior of campus.
- Visitors follow established protocols, and any unusual activity is promptly addressed.
Emergency Preparedness
- Staff trained annually in CPR, First Aid, and emergency procedures
- Regular collaboration with local law enforcement and fire departments
- Scheduled drills: fire (monthly), shelter-in-place, lockdown, weather (quarterly)
- Parent alerts via text or phone calls during emergencies
Partnering with Families
Parents play a vital role by following procedures, keeping contact information current, and staying alert to announcements. Together, we provide a secure, Christ-centered environment where students can grow in faith, knowledge, and character.
