Babies, Graduations, Marathons, and More
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9
While being mindful (and thankful!) that the Lord determines our steps, here are some plans we’ve made for 2016.
Kathy Dodge, 1st Grade Assistant – I’m excited to become a Grandmother in May or June!
Jennifer Delacourt, Registrar – This year, my daughter leaves for college. I am so happy for her and proud of her accomplishments, but I am going to miss having her at home. I am trying not to be distracted by my “to do” list, instead enjoying every minute she is at home and making lots of memories.
Corina Eddy, Preschool Teacher-I am planning to run my 3rd half-marathon this spring. It has been a few years since my last race but I am training hard this winter and hope to finish 13.1 miles in under 2 hours.
Donna Maniskas, Student Support Team – My plan for 2016 is to enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and friends. With the birth in November of my granddaughter who was 2 lbs. 3 oz, God has helped me see more clearly the difficulties that children and families face. God is “enlarging my territory” and giving me greater trust, compassion, and love. I hope to introduce my granddaughter to MGCS before this school year ends!
Melanie Coefield, Upper School Teacher – My husband and I are moving into our new home in Carolina Beach at the end of January. David, who does home renovations, is doing the entire custom kitchen himself.
Tammy Chapman, Front Desk – This summer, I will welcome my second grandchild!
Glenn Pleasant, Lower School Administrator – I am working toward an M.Ed at UNCW. My daughter Allie graduates from High School in 2017. My goal for 2016 is to graduate before she does!
Stacey Miller, Head of School – This year, I am entering a new and exciting stage of life – I’m becoming a grandfather. My oldest son Josh and his wife Savannah are expecting a baby boy in May.
Amanda Doherty, Upper School Teacher – My husband Matt and I are hoping to bring home our little one from South Korea this year.
Chris Jensen, Upper School Teacher – This year, I plan to be a busy and happy Mom and Grandma. This summer, I‘ll visit my new granddaughter in Raleigh and help care for her while my daughter returns to work. I will also help my younger daughter and husband relocate from Seattle, WA to Fort Bragg, NC.
