Spiritual Formation: Our End Goal for MGCS Graduates

Our students are challenged to grow not just academically and personally but spiritually, too.  We seek to produce graduates who are maturing followers of Jesus Christ equipped and inspired to impact the world for the glory of God.  Our end goals for each graduate of MGCS is that they will be rooted in faith and learning and able to nourish the world through effective stewardship and service.

  • be critical thinkers who discern truth and evaluate ideas from a biblical perspective
  • enjoy and demonstrate their identity in Christ
  • broadly reflect the excellence of God’s design in their work and relationships

The theme verse for the 2018-2019 school year is the very familiar passage; 1 Corinthians. 13:1-8a. This passage speaks of love that is demonstrated through action. Throughout this school year, we are working to give students opportunities to demonstrate love in an increasing measure.  Some new spiritual formation initiatives in support of those ends include:

CREATION OF A TRIBE COUNCIL

This student-led group is given increased responsibilities for leadership in the school. The Tribe Council has already been hard at work leading tribe meetings and planning for the school’s fall retreat on November 30. They meet every week before school for prayer and on December 18th, the Tribe Council will lead a combined chapel for the whole school.

2018-19 Tribe Council Officers
Julia Butler-President; Christian Carne-Vice President; Fraley Kelly-Creative Director; Maris Grant-Program Director. Each officer is mentored in their leadership role by the members of the Spiritual Formation Team.
