Before joining MGCS, Durk served for 21 years as Middle School Chaplain and Bible Teacher at St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, VA. An ordained minister, Rev. Steed was also pastor of King’s Chapel Presbyterian Church in Ashland, VA. Durk earned several teaching awards at St. Christopher’s, but his favorite encouragement was from a sixth-grade student who wrote, “When you speak about Christ, it’s magical.”
Durk is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill (B.A. in Business), Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div), and Union Theological Seminary (Th.M). Durk and his wife, Nancy, have two sons, Durk Jr. (23) and Nash (19). Durk loves to spend time with his family, his guitar, a good book, and his camera.
